Aside from his striking ability, the bantamweight champion is one of the tallest fighters in the division, and he currently has an 18-1 record.
Merab Dvalishvili
Merab has an incredibly relentless, untiring wrestling style, using his cardio and volume to tire out his opponents. He has a 17-4 pro record, and his last 3 wins were impressive performances against Henry Cejudo, Petr Yan, and Jose Aldo. Despite his impressive record at bantamweight, this will be his 1st shot at the title, partly because his friend and teammate Sterling was the former champion.
Alexa Grasso
Alexa Grasso took the women’s flyweight belt from Valentina last March, securing a submission victory. She has a 16-3-1 record but hasn’t lost a fight since 2019 and has looked like a better fighter each time she’s entered the cage. She has excellent striking skills and has shown great improvements in her ground game too.
Valentina Shevchenko
Shevchenko is one of the greatest women of all time in MMA fighting, with a 23-4-1 record. Before losing to Grasso, the Bullet’s only loss came as she moved up a weight class to take on Amanda Nunes and lost a close split decision. She’ll want to win back her belt to cement her legacy, and she definitely has the ability to do so.

Despite O’Malley’s star power and excellent striking, he comes into this match as the betting underdog. His impressive title fight win over Merab’s teammate Sterling won him a lot of plaudits, but it didn’t answer questions posed by his doubters. Many fans still believe that he’ll face issues when he has to face a fighter with a heavy wrestling style.
There aren’t many other fighters in the UFC who rely more on their wrestling than Merab. His insane pace will be difficult for anyone to match, and he uses constant takedowns to wear his opponents down. As a result, it’s easy to see why he’s the favourite in the MMA odds. Of course, O’Malley does have the superior reach and a good chance of landing a knee as Merab shoots for a takedown.

In their first rematch, the 2 women cancelled each other out, both landing good strikes throughout the fight. The result was ruled a draw, which was controversial. However, it was hard to separate the 2.
Usurpingly based on their last time facing off inside the cage, this is a pick’em fight, with the UFC odds between the 2 almost even. Either fighter could realistically win, and it’s hard to decide on which one has the better chance. Valentina has a slight edge in the odds due to her experience, but Grasso is 6 years younger and is fighting better than ever.
